We stock two home ice baths, the Kodiak S-Series, with cooling built in, and the Nova Plunge from Champion Saunas, which is ready for a chiller. Both are on show at our Cheshire and Staffordshire showrooms, so you can pop in for a look before you choose.
What is an ice bath?
An ice bath is a tub of cold water you sit in for a few minutes at a time. It’s also called a cold plunge.
A proper ice bath tub is made for the job. It’s the right shape to sit in, it’s insulated and it has a cover, so there’s no filling the family bath and tipping in bags of ice. For temperatures, timings and what people use cold water for, read our ice baths buyer’s guide. Ice baths are a wellbeing practice, not a medical treatment. If you have a heart or blood pressure condition, or you’re pregnant, please speak to your doctor first.
Do I need an ice bath with a chiller?
An ice bath with a chiller keeps the water at the temperature you set, so it’s ready every day without buying ice. A tub without one costs less to buy, but you cool it yourself or add a chiller later.
The Kodiak S-Series has its own cooling and heating built in. The Nova Plunge works with an external chiller, sold separately, and you can add one to keep it cold all year round.
What is the difference between the Kodiak S-Series and the Nova Plunge?
The Kodiak is a powered ice bath with temperature control built in. The Nova Plunge is a handcrafted timber cold plunge tub that needs a chiller bought separately to cool it.
Kodiak S-Series Ice Bath, £4,499
It cools to 4°C and heats to 40°C, and holds 435 litres for one person. You get inline filtration, an insulated shell, a lockable cover and multicolour LED lighting. It runs from a 13 amp supply and is built for use indoors or outdoors, all year round. See the Kodiak S-Series Ice Bath.
Nova Plunge from Champion Saunas, £1,899 to £2,899
A round tub, 102 cm across, with a grey fibreglass shell and a timber exterior in several wood finishes. Matching wooden steps and an insulated cover are included. It only needs a 13 amp supply if you buy the chiller. The price depends on the options you choose. See the Nova Plunge.
